$image_alternative.data

The Tackling Race Inequality Fund (TRIF) was opened in April 2009 and will close at the end of March 2011. It is sponsored by Communities and Local Government (Race Equality and Diversity Division).  TRIF supports the Government’s work to tackle race inequalities and builds on the Connecting Communities Plus funding programme in developing good working relationships with the Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) third sector and improving the long term viability of the BAME third sector and the Government’s race equality and community cohesion strategy – Improving Opportunity, Strengthening Society.

The Community Development Foundation (CDF) is managing the delivery of administration, support and evaluation for the Tackling Race Inequalities Fund (TRIF) from 2009 -2011. The Fund opened in April 2009 and will close at the end of March 2011. CDF’s Programmes Department are responsible for the management and administration whilst the evaluation is being conducted by CDF’s Research Unit.

The evaluation of the Tackling Race Inequalities Fund programme is an opportunity to demonstrate the value of funding the work of third sector organisations working in a variety of ways to help tackle racial inequalities and promote equality of opportunity for people from Black Asian and Minority Ethnic groups. It is also an opportunity to feed back this learning and experience to stakeholders, as well as the wider third sector and relevant funders.

CDF is conducting an evaluation of the process, outcomes, impact and added value of the fund running in two stages from November 2009 to June 2011.
