The Hardship Fund is a £16.7 million government sponsored programme which delivers grants of between £50,000 and £250,000 to third sector organisations facing hardship as a result of the recession.
CDF is administering the programme, which includes an evaluation element. The evaluation will examine the impact of the recession on organisations applying for a grant, and will explore how the grant has supported those organisations. This will involve reviewing evidence that organisations have provided to demonstrate their financial hardship, and interviewing grant recipients towards the beginning of the programme, and before it ends in Dec 2010.
A report of the findings should be available in early 2011.
