The evaluation for Faiths in Action began in 2009.
The first year of the evaluation focus is on evaluating the programme at a regional rather than a local level. This is because the first year of the Faiths In Action Programme focussed on funding at the regional level to provide Regional Faith Forums. These Regional Faith Forums aim to work with Regional Development Agencies and Government Offices to help coordinate planning and promote cohesion, as well as create stronger networks with local faith forums and provide a more coordinated approach to interfaith work.
The second year of the evaluation will continue to examine the role and impact of the Regional Faith Forums. We will also explore the impact of the Faiths In Action grants on locally funded groups. Local groups have been able to apply for funding from Spring 2009.
Along with other evaluation methods during the course of the project we will be in a position to reflect on the strengths and weaknesses of the Faiths in Action programme, and share our learning.
